The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate General of Health Services, has set a rate limit for the rapid test is Rp 150 thousand. The rate setting has been effective since 6 July 2020.
Rapid test is one of the methods used to detect whether someone is infected with COVID-19 or not. A rapid test is only an initial screening and can only be done at the health service facilities or beyond as long as it is done by health workers.
Before setting rate limits, people were confused by the difference in rapid test rates. Therefore, the Ministry of Health has set the highest tariff limits for rapid test examination.
The Ministry of Health has sent a circular to all heads of health offices in regencies / cities and provinces, as well as heads of health sector organizations throughout Indonesia regarding the highest tariff limits for rapid test examination. The circular was instructed to the health service facilities that served the rapid test to limit the examination fee to a maximum of Rp 150 thousand.
Through a written statement from the Ministry of Health, Director General of Health Services dr. Bambang Wibowo says the rate applies to anyone who want to do rapid test by their own request. In addition, the examination must be done by health workers.
"The rapid test must be done by health workers who have competence and come from health service facilities," dr. Bambang Wibowo says.
