They found that there are other benefits in olive oil, namely, HDL can also fight inflammation which can help prevent heart attacks. Not only that in this study it was also found that when HDL particles were able to suppress inflammation they also reduced the incidence of cardiovascular disease.
While the increase in HDL's anti-inflammatory capacity was higher in women than men, this is good news for those of you concerned with heart health. In the medical world, doctors will not prescribe olive oil injections to ward off heart attacks in the near future. Based on this research, there is a growing body of evidence (including this new study), showing that olive oil can help you stay healthy.
