On Monday (17/02), PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) signed a contract of work for CP201 package phase 2A of MRT Jakarta. The signing was carried out by Construction Director of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Silvia Halim, and Representative of Shimizu - Adhi Karya Joint Venture (SAJV) Yutaka Okumura.
The project, which is included in the contract package, aims to build two tunnels connecting Bundaran HI Station to Harmoni Station and two underground stations, Thamrin Station and Monas Station. The total length of the track worked is 2.8 kilometers.
The signing of phase 2 work contract for MRT Jakarta took place in B exit area of Bundaran HI Station, and was witnessed by Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, Japan Ambassador to Indonesia Masafumi Ishii, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for Indonesia Yamanaka Shinichi, and Managing Director of PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk. Budi Harto.
"Just signed a CP 201 Phase 2A MRT Jakarta contract that will work on 2.8 km tunnel work from Bundaran HI to Harmoni and two underground stations, Thamrin Station and Monas Station," explained President Director of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) William Sabandar. According to William, this phase 2 project will begin in March 2020 until the target is completed in December 2024.
Phase 2 construction of Jakarta MRT is divided into two parts, phase 2A and 2B. Phase 2A is about six kilometers long and consists of seven stations, Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota Stations. All phase 2A work is expected to end in December 2024.
While the phase2B, referred to as the North to South line, will extend along about 5.8 kilometers from Kota to Ancol Station with three stations, Mangga Dua Station, Ancol Station and West Ancol Station. The construction will begin in 2022 and the target will be completed in 2027.
In his remarks, Anies appreciated this phase 2A development plan. "After going through a fairly complicated planning process, the work of MRT Jakarta phase 2A in particular 2.8 kilometers can be signed and planned for completion in December 2024," he said.
