To make your cloth masks effective to prevent getting and spreading COVID-19, apply these simple ways by the World Health Organization (WHO).
- One mask, one person, it should not be used interchangeably.
- Make sure to choose mask which cover face area—above the nose to the bottom of your chin—ideally.
- For cloth mask, wash before use.
- Wash your hands with soap and water or wipe your hands with alcohol before putting mask on.
- Mask should not be used for a long time, maximum 4 hours (quoted from Halodoc). If it already wet or dirty, use the new one.
- Not touch mask—change positions or tighten loose ties for headloop masks—make sure to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer first.
- If you really need take off mask, take it off thoroughly. Not put on exposed area like your neck or any exposed surfaces.
- Remove mask without touching eyes, nose or mouth.
- Change with the new one if you find your mask already loosen its ties, rip, and so forth.
