Jakarta Presenting Bioskop Rakyat Indiskop at Low Prices

Indiskop aims to provide an access and expand the opportunity to watch movies for small and medium-sized communities, as well as to provide opportunities for Indonesian films to be increasingly enjoyed by the wider community.

The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta through Perumda Pasar Jaya in collaboration with PT. Kreasi Anak Bangsa (Keana Films-Production) and the Creative Economy Agency of the Indonesian Creative Economy (Bekraf) inaugurated the Indiskop People’s Cinema located in Teluk Gong Market, North Jakarta, with the concept of "Edusinema, Creative Space, Indonesian Culinary". This cinema was inaugurated directly by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, on Monday (7/10).

With the presence of Indiskop, it is expected to bring equality to all levels of Jakartans, especially for the underprivileged, because they can watch movies in theaters at affordable prices. For the Jakartans, Indiskop is also expected to be one of the third spaces to interact and get entertainment that builds a sense of togetherness.

“Alhamdulillah today Indiskop is inaugurated in Teluk Gong. This is a new chapter, not just for the cinema in this place, but a new chapter for Jakartans. Indiskop is an opportunity for the Jakartans to be able to watch on cinema at an affordable price," explained Anies.

Anies also added, for further the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to collaborate with stakeholders to present Indiskop People's Cinemas in each region in Jakarta. The construction of the People's Cinema in Teluk Gong was also supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the Indonesian Film Artists Association (Parfi) 56.

The presence of Indiskop aims to provide an access and expand the opportunity to watch movies for small and medium-sized communities, as well as to provide opportunities for Indonesian films to be increasingly enjoyed by the wider community. In addition, the People's Cinema is a plus for the creative economy sector and SMEs as a result of the many cinemas and the number of film productions. Because in every Indiskop there is also a place to sell for SMEs.

Indiskop in Teluk Gong Market has two studios which are equipped with 110 audience seats in each studio. Ticket prices at the cinema are classified as very cheap, only Rp 18,000 for Monday to Friday, while Saturday and Sunday tickets priced at Rp. 25,000. During the socialization period, films will be shown from 13.00 WIB every day.
