The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta through Department of Transportation is mobilizing 50 free school buses to unravel passenger density that often occur at KRL stations in Jabodebek, while preventing the potential transmission of COVID-19. The buses are distributed at three stations, Bogor Station, Cilebut Station, and Bojong Gede Station, to bring KRL passengers to Jakarta.

The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria; accompanied by the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya; The Head of BPTJ, along with the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Bogor City Transportation Agency, and PT KCI, directly observed the implementation of transporting KRL passengers using school buses at Bogor Station, on Monday Morning (15/6).

"We are preparing 50 buses to be sent to several stations. So the hope can help reduce the burden due to full passengers. And parked in front of the station (free school bus), so before entering the station, they can use the bus, "explained Anies.

In addition to helping transport KRL passengers in buffer zones to stations in Jakarta, this free school bus is also operated to transport passengers from KRL stations in Jakarta to Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi. As it’s known, passenger density often occurs at five KRL stations in Jakarta every Friday and at Bogor Station to Jakarta on Monday.

The buses start operating since Friday (12/6), to resolve density at several KRL stations in Jakarta. Meanwhile buses to assist KRL passengers in the buffer zone to Jakarta began to be deployed on Monday (6/15).
