Teachers are heroic figures in disguise. They provide us with knowledge during our school days. In Indonesia, their services are celebrated annually on November 25th on the Teacher’s Day. For some countries, Teacher’s Day is part of a school holiday. While in Indonesia, Teacher’s Day rest on the same day as the anniversary of the Indonesian Teacher Association (PGRI), so that usually on Teacher’s Day schools held a memorial service.
A teacher is like our second parent who is patiently giving us knowledge at school as a supply for the future. That is why teachers are often referred as heroes without honors. And there are few of us who disrespect the teacher or simply lazy to do anything they assigned us to. Therefore the Teacher’s Day is the time where the students give their thanks and devotion for their teachers. Let’s show respect to our teachers!
