All-Indonesia Cinema Owners Association (GPBSI) have agreed to reopen cinemas on July 29.

According to Decree of the Head of Department Tourism and Creative Economy of DKI Jakarta Province Number 140 Year 2020, tourism including cinemas, film productions, concerts or art performances and watching a match together reopen on July 6 – 16, 2020 during first phase of extended new normal transition period.
Cucu Ahmad Kurnia as the Head of Department Tourism and Creative Economy (Disparekraf) said the operational hours for cinemas starts at 10am to 10pm, while for film productions has two sessions, 10am to 5.30pm and 8pm to 3.30am, and last but not least for music concerts, art performances or watching a match together in public spaces must end before 12am.
Thus, managements are required to apply proper health protocol including online ticket purchasing system—but if visitors had to buy ticket on the spot, non-cash transaction is highly requested, wearing mask as well as check body temperature before entering cinema. Managements also required to limit maximum capacity only 50% with distance between seats to practice physical distancing among visitors.
Meanwhile, as quoted from detik.com, Djonny Syafruddin as chairman of All-Indonesia Cinema Owners Association (GPBSI) said cinema industry players including XXI, CGV, Cinepolis, Dakota Cinema, Platinum and New Star Cinemas have agreed to reopen movie theatres nationwide on July 29 due to new normal period.
Syafruddin added movie theatres need at least three weeks to implement proper health protocol to ensure socializations of protocols are ready for visitors and all their staffs.
