Alila Hotels & Resorts has just opened its newest hotel property in SCBD, South Jakarta, Alila SCBD Jakarta. Located next to Indonesia Stock Exchange, this 5-star hotel in Jakarta reflects a hip and contemporary lifestyle. Alila SCBD Jakarta takes lavish lifestyle living to the next level.
Stepping into a hotel lobby, you will find a modern, minimalist home, adorned with curated contemporary and indigenous art, where you can drop your bags and sink into a comfy sofa, and enjoy a welcome drink while completing your digital check-in.
Alila SCBD Jakarta architecture was designed by IAW based in Bangkok, Thailand. The design itself was inspired by the unusual shape of the property so that this new hotel in Jakarta was built with a long podium and a diamond-shaped tower. Alila SCBD display consists of aluminium stick patterns and overlapping canopies, producing lines and shadows and a feeling like there is an illusion for those passing by.

The lobby art installation is themed ‘Birds, Bats and Butterflies’, that was created by Australian-born architect and artist Richard Hassell, co-founder of WOHA Architects. Crafted from aluminium, with designs inspired by Southeast Asian textiles, each large piece is formed from smaller bird, bat and butterfly shapes in a unique geometric pattern.
The dynamic shape of the building is also followed by its rooms which are designed in various different configurations. All come with charming windows that offer city view, pleasant bathrooms and all modern conveniences.
Created by Yoygakarta-based art duo Indieguerillas, you will be mesmerized by an ‘Orbital of Joy’ outside the hotel entrance that is inspired by the idea of Alila SCBD as a place that people gravitate to, for enjoyment or a relaxing break. It features six characters travelling in a circular orbit on their journeys, each hugging the geotag, symbolising a place to stopover and refresh one’s energy along the way.
Alila SCBD Jakarta offers 227 rooms that are divided into Studio King, Twin Studio, and XL Studio King. There is also a function room for various events, a Pool Terrace with a unique Catwalk Pool, Alila Fitness, and a number of world-class restaurants.
