Since COVID-19 was declared as global pandemic, all tourist attractions in Indonesia closed. Nowadays, welcoming new normal phase, those spots had begun to reopen. This is certainly a breath of fresh air for any travellers who spent five months staying at home. So, here are some tips for safely traveling in regards to COVID-19 outbreak.
1. Stay Healthy
If you have decided to travel, keep healthy. If you feel tired or sluggish, better to postpone your plan while improving your health with nutritious food, vitamins—vitamin C, A, E and zinc—and have some rest as reported from Wego.
2. Mask Wearing
Wherever you are—airports, stations or tourist attractions— always wearing mask to prevent getting or spreading virus, especially after World Health Organization (WHO) said the possibility of airborne transmission and aerosol transmission as one of the modes of transmission of COVID-19. Always wear your mask even you stay in rooms (indoor spaces). Take it off only if you need to eat and drink.
3. Hand Washing
Wash your hands with soap for 20 second or use hand sanitizer as much as possible. Make sure to wash your hands or at least use hand sanitizer after touching common surfaces that others touch, before and after eating, before wearing and removing mask and before touch your face.
4. Stay Away from Crowds
It may sounds possible to stay away from crowds in public places like airports, stations or tourist attractions. However, you can keep the safe distance at least one meter with other people.
5. Bring the PPE
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as meal and prayer equipment are required for those who decided to travel during this outbreak. Because potential transmission of COVID-19 also via food. Try to not consume undercooked or even raw foods while traveling during this outbreak.
