The Government Adds 4 Days Collective Leave

The government decided to add four days off of 2020 collective leave.

There is good news for you! On Monday (9/3), the government decided to add four days off of 2020 collective leave.

The decision was the result of a joint meeting between ministers including Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendi, Minister for Empowerment of State Apparatus, Reform and Bureaucracy (Menpan RB) Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi, and Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah.

"The meeting has formulated to add four days off in 2020 which was originally set to be 20 days to 24 days," Muhadjir Effendi said after the meeting at Menko PMK Office in Central Jakarta.

For those of you who can't wait to have holidays, here is an additional schedule for holidays collective leaves in 2020:

1. On 28 and 29 May 2020 as collective leaves for Eid Al-Fitr.

2. 21 August 2020 as a collective leave for Hijri New Year.

3. 30 October 2020 as a collective leave for commemoration of the Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.

According to Muhadjir, the government will also immediately regulate the categorization of holidays through presidential regulations.

First, national holidays that have been largely known as holiday is determined based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 2051 of 1967 as amended by Keppres Number 3 of 1983.

Second, public holiday is day the day that closed in accordance with government decision with special consideration and specific reason.

Third, collective leave, which is a holiday that uses employees leave rights. "As for the state civil apparatus, this is adjusted to government regulation number 11 of 2017," Muhadjir continued.
