Google Helps Small Businesses Through Google Merchant Center

Google plans to increase search results in Shopping tab by including small businesses as well.

You may have seen Shopping tab often on Google when looking for information on an item or product. The presence of the tab is intended to ease people to find out or comparing the price of an item that they want to buy or just want to know. 

Usually, the top search results will be dominated by products from e-commerce sites. Therefore, Google plans to increase search results in Shopping tab by including small businesses as well. Google promises, small businesses can selling their products for free on Google Shopping.

Sellers don't need to registering their business to Google. Just simply register their product to Merchant Center here, a seller-specific site. Then upload their product pictures and related information. Seller only needs to follow the instructions in it.

Not only that, Google will also engage small business people who have registered on Google My Business. Their offline stores will appear on Google Shopping maps, so Google users who are looking for an offline store to buy an item or product can find the location of their store. Small business owners simply enter their business and product information through their Google My Business account for free.

Google hopes that businesses that still rely on offline outlets can expand their marketing through online platforms. Google Shopping will also bring more relevant product search results to users when searching. Although in fact it was launched a long time ago, Google just officially introduced this feature last November with several additional new features.
