Condet, East Jakarta known as a home for culture of Betawi. On the other hand, Condet known as Betawi cultural reserve. It is not surprising to see a lot Betawi festivals held here, like Bazaar Rakyat.
This event was initiated by a group of creative young people as a members of Karang Taruna Bale Kambang that ready to enliven your upcoming weekend with interesting agendas. Various cultures of Betawi will be shown, include traditional dance, gambus (small ensemble music), pencak silat (martial arts of various styles) and lenong (traditional theatrical accompanied by traditional Betawi music ensemble).
Along with those entertaining shows, there will be dozens of food stands offering you many Betawi dishes became extinct, such as dodol (sugar palm-based confection and sweet like toffee), kerak telor (spicy traditional omelette), bir pletok (refreshing drink made by herbs and spices), soto Betawi (Betawi beef soup), asinan Betawi (traditional salad with peanut dressings) and other products like fashion, cosmetics, hand crafts and many more.
Bazaar Rakyat will be held for 2 days, November 17 – 18th 2018, for free. Do not miss this entertaining festival!
