The COVID-19 pandemic caused the majority of people in more than 200 countries to quarantine. Departing from this issue, Google Maps added new features, which allows users to easily find the nearest restaurant that provides "takeout" and "delivery" options.
If after a long time Google Maps provides features that make it easy for users to find restaurants and coffee shops nearby, but now users can take advantage of "takeout" and "delivery" options in the app. This new feature can also help maintain the restaurant business, due to the adoption of Large-Scale Social Distancing (PSBB) which does not allow restaurants to serve dine-in.
Users can find these two features on Google Maps home page app on both iOS and Android. Users will find "delivery" and "takeout" options located under the search bar.
How to use it is also easy. Users only need to open Google Maps app and select the "delivery" or "takeout" option. Furthermore, Google Maps will automatically display a list of nearest restaurants, which provides delivery or takeout services. The information is displayed on the map page marked with the "spoon and fork" icon.
In addition, Google Maps also provides information in the form of distance, opening hours, address, contact number, to the menu offered by the restaurant. To get a booking and delivery service, users can contact the number listed in the information bar. For the "takeout" option, users who order food must come and take their order to the restaurant themselves.
