If you pass the street food culinary area around Panglima Polim, South Jakarta, you will certainly see a small stall that is always crowded with people. It’s the Ayam Goreng Berkah Rachmat that sells original Javanese fried chicken. They use three-months-old organic chicken that sent directly from Central Java. Wow! Not so many restaurants bring their ingredients from out of town and this is one of a few.
The stall was established since 1962 and use only fresh ingredients that became the secret behind its tender and delicious meat. The quality and taste has never changed over years. This consistency is what made this stall always crowded with buyers.

If you come with family or friends, you can order a whole chicken for IDR 43,000. Or get the half-chicken or per piece if you don’t eat that much. They serve steamed white rice and the savory nasi uduk, which is the steamed rice cooked in coconut milk. If you like chicken innards, they serve fried intestines, gizzard, and liver. Don’t forget to enjoy the chicken with its spicy chili paste. Mmmm!
